domo gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition titled Aerial Landscapes, by Roy Kinzer. This is his first solo show in Summit, New Jersey.
Roy Kinzer, a resident of Hoboken, NJ, is the winner of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Artist’s Grant, (2003-2004), and a current finalist for the Sky, mural Lobbies project at the Jersey City Medical Hospital.
Mr. Kinzer’s current project is a series of aerial landscapes and satellite mosaics that explore Luminism and fractal geometry. Mr. Kinzer uses acrylic, collaged roads and marker on wood panels to create images that resemble satellite maps disrupted by bursts of color and bleached out light.
Mr. Kinzer explores the beauty and grandeur of nature, through satellite maps, by placing the viewer above the earth. By combining formal elements of landscape paintings with Non-formal fractal structures and through his use of color, light, and perception of place Mr. Kinzer invites the viewer to explore the sublime – “My goal is that these non-formal patterns and rhythms convey calm and beauty to the viewer.”
