domo gallery is pleased to announce an installation by Elizabeth Castagna, titled “before.”
Elizabeth Castagna’s work explores time and place, where every move, every painting is a piece of the continuum, yet every part makes a whole. Her respect for both time and place is revealed in her abstract paintings and works. “My paintings for me show me where I am in my place in time.”
Elizabeth invites the viewer to share and continue the experience of her paintings and her works. “Once a painting leaves my studio the experience of it becomes shared between myself and others. The piece takes on a life of its own. My intention no longer matters, and this allows a piece to be completed by others in many different ways.”
Elizabeth Castagna, a native of the Bronx, received a BFA at Saint John’s University in Queens, New York, and currently resides in New York City. She has performed and exhibited in Vermont, New York, and Barcelona, Spain.
